Proposed Redesign of Services
The Fillmore County Board of Commissioners is seeking to “re-design” the way business is done in order to coordinate services to best meet the needs of Fillmore County citizens. Along with creating efficiencies and cooperative working relationships without duplicating services, Fillmore County hopes to achieve savings by the merger of the Veterans Services, Public Health, and Social Services departments into one Community Services department. The merger would create a stronger, more efficient, effective and enhanced operation yet retain the visibility and identity of each of the divisions as well as obtain additional revenue sources to offset increasingly scarce county dollars. There was board consensus to proceed with implementing this organizational chart at the January 26, 2010 County Board meeting.
