Where can I get an application for employment with Fillmore County?
Fillmore County has a fillable Employment Application available. Please download the form, complete it, sign and return to the Administrator's Office. You can also call 507-765-4566 for an application to be mailed to you or visit the Administration Office in the courthouse between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, to complete an application in person. Applications are only accepted for posted open positions.
Where can I find a list of available positions?
All vacant positions are posted in the Administrator's Office. Visit the Employment link or our Facebook page for the current listing of all open positions. Fillmore County may also advertise position openings in the newspaper.
How is my application processed, and when will I be notified about the job?
After the application deadline, applications are screened and rated along with awarding any veteran's preference points which may apply. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified by the Administrator's Office. Depending on the position, applicants may also be asked for further background information and testing. Final hiring decisions are made by the Fillmore County Board of Commissioners. The Human Resources staff contacts the selected applicant and completes the hiring process. Applicants not interviewed or chosen for hire are notified by Human Resources.
I am a veteran, how do I get credit for my military service?
Applicants who wish to utilize veteran's preference eligibility, in accordance with Minn. Statute 43A.11, will need to complete the veteran's preference form within the County's employment application. Applicant's will need to provide their DD214 in order for Human Resources to verify eligibility. For disabled veterans, a US Department of Veteran's Affairs letter stating disability rating must accompany the DD214. For questions regarding your specific situation, please contact Human Resources.

How do I apply for positions in the Social Services Department?
All applicants interested in future positions with Fillmore County Social Services must be registered with the Minnesota Merit System. Registration and applications for these positions are available by accessing the Minnesota Merit System website and following the application instructions.
Fillmore County hires all of its positions within Social Services through the Minnesota Merit System.
