Breastfeeding Support and Resources

slider-wave
Fillmore County Public Health supports family breastfeeding goals with consultations and resources.  If you have questions about breastfeeding, call 507-765-3898 and ask to speak with staff.  We also encourage families to connect with their medical provider about lactation consultation, breastfeeding education courses, or breastfeeding support programs.  Below are some great resources for families, providers, and workplaces regarding breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Friendly Backpacks
Fillmore County Public Health developed Breastfeeding Friendly Backpacks in partnership with Coffective, the Fillmore County Breastfeeding Coalition, Local Libraries, the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).  To provide support for families interested in breastfeeding, public libraries in Chatfield, Harmony, Lanesboro, Mabel, Preston, Rushford, and Spring Valley have books for adults and a children’s backpack of books, dolls, nursing stuffed animals, and activities.
