Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003, The Fillmore County Detention Center has a policy of zero tolerance with regard to sexual abuse and sexual harassment in this facility and will take appropriate affirmative measures to protect all inmates of sexual abuse and sexual harassment to promptly and thoroughly investigate all allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office will investigate any criminal allegations. Any person may report an allegation on behalf of any inmate in the Fillmore County Detention Center by contacting Jail Administration at 507-765-3874. Reports can also be made to the Victim Services Center of Dodge, Fillmore and Olmsted Counties at 507-765-2805 (M-F) or 507-289-0636 (24/7) or by contacting Fillmore County Law Enforcement at 507-765-3874.
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act, The Fillmore County Detention Center is required to undergo a PREA audit every 3 years. We are required to post a copy of the Final Report once the audit is completed. The Fillmore County Detention Center is currently in the process of undergoing our PREA audit.
