Fillmore County Victim Services is a trusted program designed to offer support, information, and referrals for individuals, families, and communities.

Women’s Shelter and Support Center

The Women’s Shelter and Support Center is committed to serving victims of domestic violence. We serve both women and men and all domestic violence cases with victims 18 years of age or older. The Women’s Shelter organization serves a 10-county area.
Talk with a trained advocate about your safety options, services available, and additional resources you can access during this time.

What can an advocate help me with?
  • Explaining the various steps of the criminal justice process
  • Understanding your rights as a crime victim
  • Providing referrals to community resources to help meet your needs
  • Filing restraining orders (Order for Protection and/or Harassment Restraining Order)
  • Assisting in financial assistance to help with expenses resulting from crime (examples include reparations, restitution, etc.)
  • Providing support and advocacy during sexual assault medical examinations
  • Court advocacy
  • Crisis intervention
  • Support through the healing process
  • Support through an interview with law enforcement
