The Fillmore County Highway Department is responsible for the road maintenance, design and construction of roads on the county highway system.  This includes snow plowing, rocking, grading and all road maintenance issues on 481 miles of county road.  Additionally, all design, surveying and construction of new roads and bridges, as well as inspections on the 474 bridges, are done through this office.  The County Engineer is Ron Gregg and the Maintenance Supervisor is Brent Kohn.

CP 23-24-02  Aggregate
The Fillmore County Highway Department will be accepting bids for the furnishing and hauling of Class 2 (modified) aggregate on various Fillmore County Roads, and the furnishing of same material in stockpile  at various quarry locations.  Sealed bids will be received at the office of the County Engineer at the Fillmore County Highway Department in Preston, Minnesota, on behalf of the Fillmore County Board of Commissioners, until 1:30 p.m. on April 29, 2024.

Aggregate material will conform with the 2020 Edition of Minnesota Department of Transportation “Standard Specification for Highway Construction”, and as amended by the Special Provisions.  Quantities are estimated at 44,320.5 tons of class-2 mod aggregate material, plus stockpile quantities.
