Youth who participate in routine dental and medical checkups have a greater opportunity to grow up to become healthy adults. The purpose of wellness exams is to identify, diagnose and treat potential health concerns and to encourage development of good health habits. The Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) program provides wellness exams to youth aged birth to 20 years who are members of Medical Assistance.
Services available to youth enrolled in the Child and Teen Checkups program include:
- Physical exams
- Dental exams with fluoride varnish treatments for specific ages
- Hearing screening
- Lead screening
- Mental health screening
- Vision screening
- Immunizations
- Lab tests
- Education and information about good physical and mental health
- Time to discuss thoughts, feelings and relationships
