THE RURAL RECYCLING CONTAINERS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR LANDFILL GARBAGE.

 

HOW TO USE RURAL RECYCLING CONTAINERS

Transport to your nearest drop-off location and deposit into marked recycling container.

Do not place plastic bags into recycling containers.  Fiber recyclables may be placed into brown paper bags.  Rigid recyclables must be deposited unbagged into the marked container.  Fibers and Rigids may now be comingled in the same container.

RURAL  RECYCLING  PROGRAM

Fillmore County rural residents may contract with a waste hauler for home service or use one of the County Recycling Containers or the Resource Recovery Center.

 

LOCATIONS  OF  COUNTY  RECYCLING  DROP-OFFS

  1. Open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m.—3:30 p.m, and the first Saturday each month, 8:00 a.m.—12 noon.
  2. Chatfield Recycling Container, open 24 hours every day.
  3. Cherry Grove Recycling Container, open 24 hours every day.
  4. Peterson Recycling Container, open 24 hours every day.
  5. Spring Valley Recycling Container, open 24 hours every day.

GLASS

  • Jars—Bottles—Jugs

STEEL/TIN  &  ALUMINUM CANS

  • Steel Covers—Clean Aluminum Foil and Pie Plates

 

PLASTICS

  • Bottles—Jugs—Ice Cream Pails
  • Any Plastic Container With a 1 or 2 Inside the “Chasing Arrows” on the Bottom

Take your plastic shopping bags and grocery bags back to a store.

WHAT  NOT  TO  RECYCLE—PUT INTO HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE

  • Candy Wrappers—Used Tissue—Dirty Diapers—Small Appliances
  • Ovenware—Yogurt Containers—Fridge Packs—Plastic Toys—Flower Pots
  • Plastic Sleds—Canning Jars—Windows—Mirrors—Ceramics—Pottery—Light Bulbs
  • Egg Cartons—All Forms of Styrofoam—Soiled Cardboard Pizza Boxes—Waterbeds
  • Aluminum Foil with Food—Amber Pill Bottles—Lawn/Deck Furniture—Lumber
