The Recorder is an elected position with a four-year term. Dave Kiehne began his first term as Recorder in January of 2007.

The Recorder’s Office is the custodian of all permanent records of real estate transactions in Fillmore County. All documents, such as deeds, mortgages, releases, contract for deeds, mechanic liens, state and federal tax liens, and plats of land are recorded in this office.

All documents related to the torrens land systems are recorded in the office with the Registrar of Titles.

The Fillmore County Recorder's Office is also a satellite office of the Minnesota Secretary of State for filing UCC statements and any related filing, including lien searches in the state system.
