The Recorder is an elected position with a four-year term. Dave Kiehne began his first term as Recorder in January of 2007.
The Recorder’s Office is the custodian of all permanent records of real estate transactions in Fillmore County. All documents, such as deeds, mortgages, releases, contract for deeds, mechanic liens, state and federal tax liens, and plats of land are recorded in this office.
All documents related to the torrens land systems are recorded in the Recorder office with the Registrar of Titles.
